Army Chief General MM Naravane on Wednesday underlined the need to open all avenues for women in Indian society, be it the corporate sector or the army. We will also have the first batch of women fighter pilots to graduate by the end of this year, she said at an event organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Ficci).
The army chief said that we need to open all avenues for women in Indian society whether it is the corporate sector or the army. He said that women officers have been serving the Indian Army for a long time and we have given them many tasks, due to which they have got an opportunity to work in different fields.

In fact, General was speaking as a keynote speaker at a program organized by FICCI called ‘Celebrating Women from the Tri-Services’. During this, he also honored the outstanding women officers of the Armed Forces. The General said that the Indian Army believes in providing equal opportunities to all, while believing in gender equality and upliftment of women. At the same time, the Army Chief has appreciated the genuine efforts being made by FICCI for organizing this event.
