Army Chief General MM Naravane on Tuesday presented the ‘Chair of Excellence’ at top military think tank ‘United Service Institution of India’ (USI) in memory of India’s first Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat. ) announced to be established.

In a statement issued by the army, it has been said that the director of USI, Major General (Retd.) B. Of. Sharma has been handed over a check of Rs 5 lakh, which will be paid to the designated ‘Chair of Excellence’ as an honorary amount.

The Army said the Chair of Excellence is a tribute to General Rawat’s acumen and professional expertise. In his address, the Army Chief said that General Rawat was very passionate about strategic matters and had spent a lot of time and energy in the activities of various think tanks.
General Naravane said that his 65th birth anniversary has provided an opportunity to reconnect the services with his Intellectual Institutions. The Army Chief is serving as the ex-officio chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee (COSC). At the same time, Army officials said that the theme of this year’s research has been that ‘Solidarity and integrity in the context of ground fighting in India’ will be of one year, which will start from July 1 every year.
