Cases of cheating with many devotees who wish to visit Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Temple are continuously coming to the fore. Fraudsters are cheating the devotees through fake websites of Mata Vaishno Devi. These fraudsters offer many services to the devotees including helicopter booking and cheat people of thousands of rupees. Taking cognizance of increasing complaints, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has written to Google to block such fake online services and websites. An FIR has also been registered in cybercrime.

Ramesh Kumar, CEO, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, said in a statement, “The devotees of Mata Vaishno Devi are being duped through fake websites and are being charged exorbitant fees in the name of booking helicopters. People have complained about fake websites. Urge them not to fall prey to them. Booking can be done only on our official website or over phone and nowhere else.
