Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has resigned from the membership of the Lok Sabha. He met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on the first day of the second phase of the budget session on Monday and submitted his resignation. Bhagwant Mann had won the election of Lok Sabha MP from Sangrur seat of Punjab in the last Lok Sabha elections.
Before resigning on Monday, Bhagwant Mann said, “I will miss this Parliament very much, but the people of Punjab have given me a huge responsibility to serve the whole of Punjab. I thank them for this. I thank the people of Sangrur.” I promise that one more voice will resonate in Parliament.”
Let us tell you that on Sunday, Bhagwant Mann held a roadshow in Amritsar with Delhi CM and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal and thanked the public for giving majority. Bhagwant Mann will take oath as Chief Minister by visiting Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s village.
How will the swearing-in be?
According to sources, there will be no VVIP guest in the swearing-in ceremony of Bhagwant Mann going to be held in Khatkarkalan village of Punjab. Like in Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party has not invited the Chief Minister of any other state or any big leader of any other party for the swearing-in program in Punjab. All the big leaders of Aam Aadmi Party including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will be present in the swearing-in ceremony.
