Challenges are waiting for Bhagwant Mann
crime-
The incident of Jalandhar has opened a box of challenges in front of future CM Bhagwant Mann even before taking oath. Some youths shot famous Kabaddi player Sandeep Nangal Ambiya during a Kabaddi tournament in Halka Nakodar, Jalandhar. This incident is just an indication of the challenges facing Mann. The figures for the year 2021 have been released. According to him, there was a 13 percent increase in crimes in Punjab in 2020. A total of 82 thousand 875 cases were registered in the year 2020. Mann has already announced that the policemen will be removed from the security of the honorable and they will be deployed in the security of the public, but how much effect it will have on the ground, it is yet to be tested.
Drugs-
Dealing with the flying Punjab will also be important for Mann. Drugs are also a big problem in Punjab. In the last 7 years, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has caught three thousand 836 kg of drugs. Drugs are also supplied here from the Pakistan border. From 2017 to 20, 1235 kg of drugs were caught on the Punjab border.
Economy-
After becoming CM, the economy of Punjab is a big challenge in front of Bhagwant Mann. In fact, Punjab currently has a debt of Rs 2 lakh 82 thousand crore. There is also a decrease in the growth rate of agriculture in the state.
Big challenge of keeping promises
Apart from this, the government of Aam Aadmi Party will also have a big challenge to fulfill its promises and for this a huge government expenditure will also be required. The Aam Aadmi Party has promised that every woman above the age of 18 will be given 1000 rupees every month. There are about 99 lakh women above the age of 18 in Punjab. Now if all of them will get one thousand rupees every month, then the expenditure will be 990 crore rupees and every year 11 thousand 880 crore rupees will be spent.
Similarly, there is another promise that every month 300 units of electricity will be given free to every household. Right now in Punjab, the government gives electricity subsidy of Rs 17 thousand 796 every year, obviously this expenditure will increase even more. Although the Aam Aadmi Party is claiming that the earlier governments have been looting Punjab. Now that looting will stop, then the expenses will come out easily.
