e-Tourist Visa: Taking a major decision, the Government of India on Wednesday reinstated the five-year e-tourist visa suspended from March 2020 for citizens of 156 countries with immediate effect. This information was given by quoting an official. In a report issued regarding this, it has been said that the government has restored the regular (paper) tourist visa issued to citizens of all countries with a validity of five years. At the same time, regular tourist visas of long duration (10 years) were restored for the citizens of America, Japan.
International flights for foreign tourists
Let us inform that international flights for foreign tourists will be started from March 27. This was announced by the Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy in Gwalior in the past. He had told that some relaxation is also being given to the tourists to come to India. The Tourism Minister had told that the first five tourists will be given exemption in visa fee. He said that the Indian government is giving e-tourist visas to 170 countries.
Tourism industry suffered due to Corona
The Union Tourism Minister had told that the tourism industry suffered the most due to Corona in the last two years and now necessary steps are being taken to revive this industry. The Union Minister had said that there are immense opportunities for employment in the tourism sector. He said that due to the tourism-friendly policy of the government, India’s global ranking in the field of tourism was 52 in the year 2015, which has now increased to 34.
