Higher Secondary Exam is starting from 02nd April
The by-election is on April 12, while the Higher Secondary examination is starting from April 02. The exams were on 11 and 13 April. There was no exam on 12th April. However, even if the exam was not held, the day before and after the exam could cause problems, as only schools are used as polling stations. In view of these circumstances, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced that there will be no examination from April 6 to April 15.
Elections in five states did not change the date for by-elections
The state government had also written a letter to the Central Election Commission regarding the Higher Secondary Examination, demanding a change in the date for the by-election. However, due to elections in five states, the Election Commission had refused to change the dates of the by-elections, after which CM Mamta Banerjee announced to change the date of the examination.
