Charanjit Singh Channi has resigned from the post of Chief Minister after the defeat of the Congress in the Punjab Assembly elections. He submitted his resignation after meeting the Governor on Friday. He recommended the dissolution of the 15th Assembly.
After resigning, Charanjit Singh Channi said that I welcome the decision of the people. We will live among the people and keep working. He has appealed to the new government that the decisions taken by his government should be continued. The people of Punjab have voted for change. Aam Aadmi Party government has been formed. Channi said that we will support the government, fulfill the promises that those people have made. Our work for 111 days, decisions are to be taken by the new government.
Let us inform that the Aam Aadmi Party has got a bumper victory in the Punjab Assembly Elections-2022. AAP has captured 92 of the 117 seats in the assembly. At the same time, Congress could win only 18 seats. Bhagwant Mann will be the new Chief Minister of Punjab. He was the CM face of AAP in the assembly elections.
Charanjit Singh Channi lost both the seats
In this election, Channi was trying his luck from two seats, but he has lost from both the places. He was fighting from Bhadaur and Chamkaur Sahib seats and in both the places he got the hands of AAP candidates. After the defeat, Charanjit Singh Channi accepted his defeat on the tweet.
He tweeted that I humbly accept the decision of the people of Punjab. Also, I congratulate the Aam Aadmi Party and their CM candidate Bhagwant Mann on their victory. I hope they will live up to the expectations of the people.
