Talking about vote share, Aradhana Mishra got 50.27 percent votes. Nagesh Pratap got 41.49 percent votes.
Virendra Chaudhary wins in Farenda
At the same time, Virendra Chaudhary defeated Bajrang Bahadur Singh of BJP by 1087 votes in Farenda. Virendra Chaudhary got 85181 votes and Bajrang Bahadur got 83935 votes. The Congress also fared poorly in its strongholds Amethi and Rae Bareli. She could not win a single seat here. Party’s state president Ajay Kumar Lallu also could not win. Congress’ election campaign was led by the party’s national general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who for the past three decades held meetings and road shows across the state in an effort to revive the party.
Priyanka’s campaign was centered around the slogan ‘I can fight the girl’. The party came up with a new experiment of issuing a separate manifesto for women. Congress had also given 40% of the tickets in this election to women.
