After the crushing defeat in the assembly elections, Congress President Sonia Gandhi has indicated to make major changes in the party. The Congress President had recently asked for the resignation of the state presidents of all these states and now has taken a big step for organizational change in these states. The party has appointed 5 veteran leaders to take stock of the situation in these states and then to suggest organizational changes. All these leaders are very experienced and now all eyes will be on them.
Congress has given this information by issuing a press release and has given the names of these leaders. According to this, Ajay Maken for Punjab, Jitendra Singh for UP, Avinash Pandey in Uttarakhand, Jairam Ramesh in Manipur and Rajni Patil in Goa have been appointed. It is worth noting that these leaders have been the heads of the committee for distribution of tickets in these states. Under his supervision, the party had fielded its candidates, but the party’s performance was very disappointing.
According to the party, all the appointed leaders will assess the post-poll situation in their respective states and suggest changes. This move of Congress is being considered very important for the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2024. Recently, a meeting of the Congress Working Committee was also held, in which all these issues were discussed in detail. In this, many leaders blamed the internal turmoil within the party for the party’s defeat. Now Congress President Sonia Gandhi has become active and is constantly taking decisions to strengthen the party.
