The results of the assembly elections held in five states have been declared. In four states, BJP is going to occupy power and in one state the government of Aam Aadmi Party is being formed. While BJP has won in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur, AAP has got a bumper victory in Punjab. Many things have happened in this election which have happened for the first time.
This is happening in UP after 37 years, a government is coming back to power after completing 5 years of tenure. BJP has won 273 out of 403 seats.
– Historic victory of AAP in Punjab
In Punjab, AAP’s broom went in such a way that many veteran leaders of the opposition got cleared. Arvind Kejriwal’s party has won 92 out of 117. AAP had done well in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Punjab and told that it is going to create problems for Congress, BJP and Shiromani Akali Dal here. AAP had won 4 seats in that election. After this AAP won 20 seats in the 2017 assembly elections.
In this election, 6 candidates of AAP showed that which no leader could do in the last several years. These AAP candidates have defeated four former chief ministers.
In Bhadaur seat, Labh Singh, owner of mobile repair shop, surprised Congress’s Charanjit Singh Channi by defeating him.
– Jeevan Jyot Kaur became a star by defeating Navjot Singh Sidhu and Bikram Majithia in Amritsar East seat.
At the same time, in Patiala, Ajit Pal Singh Kohli defeated former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.
Charanjit Singh Channi of Congress was defeated by Charanjit Singh Channi of AAP in Chamkaur Sahib seat. Apart from this, Jagdeep Kamboj snatched the legislature from former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal.
Yogi Adityanath will be the first BJP leader to hold the post of Chief Minister for two consecutive terms. Not only did he complete his five-year term, but he also returned to power.
