A total of 16 Chinese citizens have been given Indian citizenship in India since 2007. Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai has given this information in Parliament. He told that, according to the data so far, applications of a total of 10 Chinese citizens are pending. All of them had applied for Indian citizenship.

Union Minister Nityanand Rai also told that, the government only keeps data according to the countries. In which it is told that the people of which countries were given Indian citizenship, but the government does not keep data on the basis of community. That is, the government does not have this data that how many Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians or people of any other religion were given citizenship.
