Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today submitted his resignation to Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai after the results of the Goa Assembly elections were announced on March 10. CM Pramod Sawant has handed it over to the Governor at the Raj Bhavan in Panaji at the end of his first term.
Talking to the media after submitting the resignation, CM Sawant said that I have submitted my resignation to the Governor. The government has requested me to continue as the caretaker chief minister till the process is completed in the state.

Responding to questions on the swearing-in ceremony of the government, Pillai said that the decision on swearing-in in 4 states has not yet been taken. After the arrival of the central observer, a meeting of the legislature party will be held here and after that the dates will be decided.
