Jammu and Kashmir: Sarpanch shot dead by terrorists in Srinagar



Srinagar: A sarpanch was shot dead by terrorists on the outskirts of Srinagar on Wednesday. The police gave this information.  The sarpanch has been identified as Sameer Bhat. Political parties have reacted sharply to the killing of Sarpanch.

Terrorists enter Sarpanch’s house
Preliminary investigation revealed that terrorists entered Sarpanch’s house and fired indiscriminately at him, a police spokesman said. The police registered a case. Investigation is on and officials are ascertaining the circumstances which led to the incident. A police spokesman said the area has been cordoned off and search is on in the area.

political parties condemned 
Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir unit spokesperson Altaf Thakur condemned the incident. He said, ‘The terrorists involved in the incident are enemies of humanity and peace, who claim bravery by killing unarmed civilians, but in reality they are cowards who feel disappointed with the grassroots democracy being built in Kashmir.’ ;’
