Kerala HC rejects actor Dileep’s plea in actress sexual abuse case



Actress assault case: The Kerala High Court has dismissed the petition of Malayalam actor Dileep. Actually, actor Dileep had demanded suspension of further investigation in the sexual harassment case with the actress. A single bench of Justice Kausar Edappagath considered the petition. The court has directed the team probing the matter to complete the investigation by April 15.

‘Further investigation was not allowed’

In the petition, Dileep had alleged, “Further investigation was a deliberate attempt to advance the trial in that case. Retribution was being carried out on the part of the police under the guise of investigation. Further investigation was not allowed, because Final report was filed in November 2017, charges were framed in January 2020 and only prosecution witness was yet to be examined.”

Actor Dileep is the 8th accused

Actor Dileep is the 8th accused in the 2017 sexual assault case against the actress. The case is that an actress working in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu films was allegedly kidnapped and molested inside the car by a group on the night of February 17, 2017.

Let us tell you that actor Dileep got anticipatory bail from the Kerala High Court a few days ago, only after which the actor filed a petition in the court, in which he had sought quashing of the FIR filed against him. However, the court today dismissed the actor’s plea.
