There is an allegation of handing over the secret document to the Union Home Secretary
It is alleged that on the same day Fadnavis met the Union Home Secretary of the Central Government and handed over some secret documents related to police transfer to the Union Home Secretary. After this, within two days, the Mumbai Police had registered a case against Devendra Fadnavis for violating the Secret Act.
In the same case, in September 2021, two to three notices were issued to Fadnavis by the Cyber Unit of Mumbai Police. In response to the last notice, Fadnavis sent a reply in a sealed cover to the cyber unit that he would reply soon.
CBI is investigating the case
After this, according to the notice sent by the cyber unit, Fadnavis did not register his reply. Due to which now the cyber unit will come directly to Fadnavis’s official bungalow Sagar and will legally record Fadnavis’s statement in the transfer police case. At present, the CBI is investigating this matter. So far, former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh have been questioned in this matter.
