new Delhi: India has hit out at the organization for inviting Hurriyat Conference to participate in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting to be held in Islamabad next week, saying India takes such activities very seriously.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said in the weekly press briefing, “We expect the OIC not to encourage those who indulge in anti-India activities and terrorism.”
On inviting Hurriyat Conference to the OIC meeting, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs said that we take very seriously such activities which attempt to destroy the unity of the country and violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity.
‘OIC being guided by political agenda of one member’
In an indirect reference to Pakistan, the spokesperson said that it is extremely unfortunate that the OIC is being guided by the political agenda of a member. “It is extremely unfortunate that the OIC is working according to the political agenda of one of its members instead of concentrating on important developmental activities,” Bagchi said.
“We have repeatedly asked the OIC to refrain from providing its platform to vested interests to interfere in India’s internal affairs,” the spokesperson said, when Bagchi was asked about reports in which The All Party Hurriyat Conference was invited by the OIC to participate in its meeting to be held in Islamabad on 25 and 23 March .
