On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Defense Colony police station in South District of Delhi Police has been made a women’s police station for a day. Talking about today, all the responsibility of this police station is on the women policemen, whether it is to attend the complaint of the complainant or to give emergency duty or to go on a call. South District DCP Benita Marie Jacker says that the safety of women has always been the priority of Delhi Police. Today the Defense Colony police station has been made a women’s police station for one day. Here today all the responsibility will be taken by women policemen. The purpose behind this is to make women feel safe and to give a message among them that they are very special to the police and their safety is on the priority of the police. Going to the PCR call for patrolling, today women policemen will do everything.

The main objective of celebrating International Women’s Day is to empower women in our society and increase their participation in various fields including economic, political, social and make them aware of rights. To promote this spirit, Delhi Police has entrusted the entire responsibility of the police station to women for a day.
