Online registration of pilgrims for Amarnath Yatra will start from April. Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) made this announcement on Thursday night. Announcing the launch of registration of pilgrims for the yatra through online process from April, the Shrine Board said that RFID based tracking will be done for the movement of pilgrims in the shrine in the Himalayan region of South Kashmir.
SASB Additional Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rahul Singh while reviewing the arrangements for the upcoming Yatra during a high level meeting chaired by Jammu Divisional Commissioner Raghav Langer said, ‘Online registration for Amarnath Yatra in the month of April 2022. Will start with a limit of 20,000 registrations per day.
He said that on-spot (tatkal) registration will also be done at the designated counters on the days of travel. Rahul Singh said that to ensure the safety of Amarnath pilgrims, the board has decided to use Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) to track the movement of vehicles and pilgrims during this year’s pilgrimage.
With the slowing down of the third wave of Kovid, the preparations for the Amarnath Yatra 2022 were intensified. This time the journey can be of forty days. The process of clearing snow from the holy cave and the yatra track is being started soon. Civil works are also being taken up at base camps and major track sites.
