Prime minister Narendra Modi In the centenary celebrations of Malayalam daily ‘Mathrubhumi’ on Friday, the media has praised the fourth pillar of democracy. PM Modi said that I have seen how much positive impact media can bring in the society. The example of Swachh Bharat Mission is well known. Every media house took this mission sincerely. It gives me pleasure to address this program on the occasion of the centenary celebrations of the motherland. Inspired by the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, Motherland was born to strengthen India’s freedom struggle. Mathrubhumi is an integral part of the glorious tradition of newspapers and magazines established all over India to unite the people of our country against the colonial rule. The PM also congratulated the people associated with this newspaper on this occasion.
Media is capable of bringing positive change in the society- PM
PM Modi further said that during the freedom struggle for Swaraj, we did not get an opportunity to sacrifice our lives. However, this Amrit Kaal gives us an opportunity to work towards a strong, developed and inclusive India. I have seen that the media can have a positive effect. Similarly, the media has played a very encouraging and very important role in popularizing Yoga, Fitness and Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao. These are subjects outside the domain of politics and political parties. They are about building a better nation in the years to come. In today’s era, the world has many expectations from India.
The country is moving towards self-reliance- PM
Along with this, PM Modi said that when the COVID-19 pandemic came, it was anticipated that India would not be able to manage things well.
The people of India proved these critics wrong. Our country driven by talented youth is moving towards self-reliant India or self-reliance. The core of this principle is to make India an economic superpower that meets domestic and global needs.
