Union Minister Narayan Rane and his MLA son Nitesh Rane were on Saturday to record their statements in a case related to Disha Salian, the former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, at the Malvani police station here. Malvani police had sent a notice to Nitesh Rane asking him to appear before the investigating officer on Thursday and his father on Friday. But he informed the police through his lawyer that since the state legislature is in session and he will give priority to discharge his duties on that day and will appear before the police on Saturday.
Rane accused of derogatory remarks about Disha Salian
The court had on Friday granted interim protection from arrest till March 10 to the father-son duo. According to the FIR lodged by the Malvani police, the Union minister had made some remarks during a press conference on February 19, where his son was also present. Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Narayan Rane made some claims about Salian’s death during a press conference on February 19. Nitesh was also present during this. It is noteworthy that Salian allegedly committed suicide by jumping from a multi-storey building in Malad on June 8, 2020, six days before Sushant Singh Rajput’s body was found from his apartment in Bandra.
