It has been decided that the outgoing Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami will become the CM of the state. According to sources, the Bharatiya Janata Party has approved the name of Pushkar Dhami as the next CM of Uttarakhand. Earlier, many names were discussed in the CM’s race, although Dhami has left everyone behind.
BJP retained power in Uttarakhand for a second term by winning 47 seats in the 70-member house. Pushkar Singh Dhami had lost the election from Khatima assembly seat, so the suspense remained intact since the election results regarding the new CM. The BJP has appointed Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Minister of State for External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi as central observers.
The BJP has asked all the newly elected MLAs to stay in Dehradun from March 20 and complete the process of formation of the new government. For the first time in the history of Uttarakhand, a party has won two consecutive elections and got a majority there.
Dhami met Amit Shah two days ago
Two days ago, Uttarakhand’s caretaker Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had reached Delhi. Pushkar Singh Dhami had a courtesy call on Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Parliament. He was accompanied by Rajya Sabha MP Anil Baluni. Before meeting Shah, Dhami also met party’s national president JP Nadda and national general secretary organization BL Santosh.
