UP Election 2022: Before the results of the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, the Samajwadi Party has accused the administration of disturbances regarding EVMs. In view of these allegations, the monitoring of the administration at the counting centers has also increased and that of the workers of political parties. A counting center has been set up at Ramabai Ambedkar Maidan in Lucknow. Workers of SP, BSP and Congress are monitoring by putting up tents outside the strong room.
Similarly, from the day of polling till now, the workers are standing outside the counting centers. They make sure that there is no disturbance by sitting overnight on the bed under these tents. Candidates also come and monitor at different times. For the satisfaction of the workers, the administration has installed CCTV cameras in the strong room, which can be seen on the screen outside.
‘SP workers are standing on the spot’
Samajwadi Party’s candidate from Sarojini Nagar seat of Lucknow and former minister Abhishek Mishra also reached the counting center to inspect the votes. He said that the administration is deliberately trying to create disturbances. Abhishek Mishra said that the SP has complained many times in view of the possibility of disturbances, but the Election Commission is not taking any action on their complaints. He said that in view of the possibility of disturbances, SP workers are standing on the spot, due to which the administration is not able to do what they want.
‘There is no room for error’
Lucknow District Magistrate Abhishek Prakash categorically rejected the allegations of the Samajwadi Party, claiming that there was no scope for disturbance. CCTV cameras have been installed in the strong room for surveillance, whose output is mounted on the outside screen. Apart from this, according to the rules, workers of political parties have also been allowed to stay outside the counting centers. He said that preparations for counting of votes have been completed and counting will start from 8 am tomorrow.

After the voting for the assembly elections is over, the EVMs are being protected in the strong room. After allegations of disturbances from some districts, the SP created a ruckus on the EVM machines being taken for training outside the counting center in Varanasi yesterday and Akhilesh Yadav openly accused the administration of messing up. At present, in the midst of these allegations, everyone is waiting for the counting to be held on March 10, in which it will be known who this time the public has reposed faith.
