Lakhimpur Kheri Case: Hearing in the Lakhimpur Kheri case will be held in the Supreme Court on March 15. The Supreme Court will hear on Tuesday the demand for cancellation of bail of Lakhimpur Kheri case accused Ashish Mishra. Advocate Prashant Bhushan, appearing for the petitioner, told the court that the High Court’s order granting bail to Ashish was wrong according to the gravity of the crime. On Thursday itself, a witness in the case was also attacked. During the hearing, advocate Prashant Bhushan told the Supreme Court that a witness in the Lakhimpur Kheri case was attacked last night.
Supreme Court to hear on March 15
The Supreme Court on Friday agreed to hear on March 15 a plea challenging the grant of bail by the Allahabad High Court to Union Minister Ajay Mishra’s son Ashish Mishra in connection with the Lakhimpur Kheri violence. In which eight people including four farmers were killed. The families of the farmers killed in Lakhmipur Kheri violence have challenged the February 10 order of Allahabad High Court granting bail to Ashish Mishra and filed a special leave petition in this regard.
8 people were killed in Lakhimpur Kheri violence
In the bail order, the High Court had said that it is possible that the driver of the vehicle tried to increase the speed to save himself from the protesters. Significantly, eight people, including four farmers, lost their lives in the violence that took place during the farmers’ protest against agricultural laws on October 3 last year in Tikonia Nighasan assembly constituency. Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni’s son Ashish Mishra was arrested as the main accused in this case. In this case, a charge sheet of 5000 pages was filed by the SIT of Uttar Pradesh.
