Ukraine Crisis: The war between Ukraine and Russia continues for the 11th day. The Government of India has launched ‘Operation Ganga’ campaign to bring back its citizens trapped in Ukraine. Under Operation Ganga, 2,135 Indians were brought back to the country today i.e. on Sunday by 11 special flights from neighboring countries of Ukraine. With this, more than 15,900 Indians have been brought back since the start of special flights on February 22, 2022, the Ministry of Civil Aviation said.
In a statement, the Ministry of Civil Aviation said, “Eight special flights are expected to operate from Budapest (05), Sukiyva (02) and Bucharest (01) tomorrow i.e. Monday, through which more than 1,500 Indians will be brought home. ” Under Operation Ganga, Indians are being brought home by Air India and Air Force planes.

In such a situation, Indian citizens coming out of Ukraine are being brought home through planes from countries like Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Poland. The Embassy of India has set up a control room in Budapest (Hungary) to evacuate Indians stranded in Ukraine.
