Who will be the minister in your government in Punjab? Party high command gave free hand to Bhagwant Mann
After winning the assembly elections with a huge majority and being elected the leader of the legislature party, Bhagwant Mann is now busy in the election of his cabinet in Punjab. Bhagwant Mann is going to take oath as the new Chief Minister of Punjab on 16th March. Tomorrow only Bhagwant will accept the oath, while the rest of the cabinet will be sworn in later, so now the discussion has started about those faces who will become ministers in Bhagwant Mann’s government.
The very next day after the election results, Bhagwant Mann had met party high command Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi. If sources are to be believed, Bhagwant Mann has been given a free hand for the selection of the cabinet on behalf of the party high command. That is, Mann will choose his own minister. Raghav Chadha, who was present as an observer on behalf of the party in the legislature party meeting, had told the media that who will take oath as ministers. This is the Chief Minister’s, Bhagwant Mann’s Prorogative, this is Bhagwant Mann’s government, they will decide who will take oath.
However, any leader associated with the party is refraining from saying openly on this. During this time, no such party face has also come to the fore who is claiming for the post of minister, but if sources are to be believed, Bhagwant Mann will express confidence in the leaders who stood with the party in difficult times.
Many such leaders who became MLAs for the second time in a row can become the face of the Bhagwant Mann cabinet. Harpal Cheema, the second largest leader in Punjab after Bhagwant Mann, said that within a week the entire cabinet would also take oath. Bhagwant Mann and party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal are currently discussing this and they will decide who will take oath as the minister.

Before Bhagwant Mann was made the CM face, there used to be 3 faces on the posters of Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab, Arvind Kejriwal, Bhagwant Mann and Harpal Singh Cheema. Cheema is almost certain to become an important face of the Mann cabinet. There is also talk that he can also get the post of Deputy Chief Minister. However, when we asked Harpal Singh Cheema about this, he said that whatever responsibility the party has given him, he has fulfilled it completely, if the party gives the responsibility even further, then I will fulfill it.

Strong representation of women can also be seen in the Bhagwant Mann government of Punjab. The names that are being considered fixed in the Bhagwant Mann cabinet include Baljinder Kaur and Jeevanjyot Kaur. Baljinder Kaur has been elected MLA from Talwandi Sabo for the second time in a row, while Jeevanjyot Kaur has become MLA from Amritsar East by defeating two stalwarts like Navjot Singh Sidhu and Vikram Majithia. Kunwar Vijay Pratap, who became MLA for the first time after defeating Akali candidate Anil Joshi from Amritsar North seat, may also get an important position in the Mann cabinet. Former IPS officer Kunwar Vijay Pratap has been an investigator of the famous Bargadi sacrilege case of Punjab.
