Tension continues between Maharashtra government and Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari. Now Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has taken a dig at Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari in front of PM Modi. Ajit Pawar on Saturday said that some people in high positions are making unnecessary remarks which the people of the state cannot accept. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Pawar made this statement at the MIT College campus in Pune where the Prime Minister Narendra Modi And Governor Koshyari was present during the inauguration of various development projects.
In fact, the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi government of Maharashtra and the opposition BJP had also objected to Koshyari’s recent remark that Samarth Ramdas was Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s guru. Before PM Modi’s address on Saturday, Ajit Pawar said that he wants to bring one thing to the notice of the Prime Minister that some people in high positions are making unnecessary comments these days which Maharashtra and its people cannot accept.
The NCP leader said, ‘Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his mother Rajmata Jijau established Swarajya. Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Krantijyoti Savitri Phule (both social reformers of Maharashtra) laid the foundation of women’s education. We need to take forward their heritage without any grudge against anyone and without bringing politics in the middle of development work.
Objection to which statement of Koshyari
Koshyari had highlighted the role of the guru at a program in Aurangabad last Sunday, giving examples of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Chandragupta Maurya. He had said, ‘Many Chakravartis (Emperors), Maharajas were born on this land, but if Chanakya was not there, who would have asked about Chandragupta? Had Samarth (Ramdas) not been there, who would have asked about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj?
Koshyari had said, “I am not questioning the merits of Chandragupta and Shivaji Maharaj. Just as a mother plays an important role in shaping the future of the child, in the same way a guru has a great place in our society.”
