Assembly Election Result 2022, Shiv Sena: Shiv Sena got less votes than NOTA in the assembly elections of Goa, Uttar Pradesh and Manipur. This information has been received from the data of the Election Commission. In Maharashtra, the Shiv Sena, which is running the government in alliance with the Nationalist Congress Party and the Congress, has not got a single seat in the three states.
All the candidates’ deposits in Goa forfeited
In Goa, Shiv Sena had fielded its candidates on 10 seats and all their deposits have been forfeited. Shiv Sena got less than 100 votes in four seats in Goa. In Goa, ‘None of the above’ (NOTA) got 1.12 per cent votes while Shiv Sena could get only 0.18 per cent votes.
The situation in Manipur is also pathetic.
Similarly, in Manipur, Shiv Sena had fielded its candidates on six seats, where NOTA got 0.54 percent and Shiv Sena got only 0.34 percent votes. Apart from this, Shiv Sena got 0.03 percent votes in Uttar Pradesh while NOTA got 0.69 percent votes.
On Shiv Sena’s poor performance in Goa, Uttar Pradesh and Manipur, party’s chief spokesperson Sanjay Raut said that his party got less votes than the NOTA option as it did not have as much money to use as the BJP. Shiv Sena MP said, still we fought in Goa and Uttar Pradesh. Our fight will continue. Win or lose is not the end. This is the beginning. We will continue to work.
Significantly, the party had fielded many leaders including Maharashtra Tourism Minister Aaditya Thackeray for the campaign. Aaditya Thackeray had campaigned in Goa and Uttar Pradesh. Raut had also sought votes for the party in Goa. Yet the party failed to make any impact in Maharashtra’s neighboring state of Goa, where a good number of Marathi-speaking people live.
