In the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections 2022, BJP has again won power by performing brilliantly. The BJP alliance has got 273 seats, in which BJP has won 255, Nishad Party 6 and Apna Dal has won 12 seats. On the other hand, Samajwadi Party has got 111 seats. Its ally RLD has got 8 seats and SubhaSP has got 6 seats. BJP has done a clean sweep in more than 20 districts.
If we talk about Bundelkhand, then this time BJP was left with a clean sweep. The party suffered a loss of 3 seats. In 2017 in all the 19 seats of Bundelkhand, the BJP had cleared the opposition. But this time SP managed to win three seats.
The Samajwadi Party did a lot of hard work on the soil of the Bundelas, but it could not convert into votes on more seats. On the other hand, the security of the common people for BJP, ration to the poor, houses, Kisan Samman Nidhi and the development works of Modi-Yogi government in Bundelkhand once again shifted the opposition’s ground.
SP won one seat each in Banda, Jalaun, Chitrakoot
There was an issue of unemployment and destitute animals in Bundelkhand but it could not leave much impact there. In Bundelkhand’s 7 districts Banda, Chitrakoot, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jalaun, Lalitpur and Jhansi all 19 seats were with BJP. But she could not repeat history this time. SP managed to win one seat each in Banda, Jalaun, Chitrakoot.
Which schemes did wonders for BJP in Bundelkhand
When we walk from Chitrakoot towards Etawah district, then Bundelkhand Expressway connecting with Agra-Lucknow Expressway is being built, which BJP had described as a project to turn its fortunes here. Apart from this, issues like establishment of Defense Corridor in Jhansi and Chitrakoot, Ken-Betwa link and irrigation projects in Banda, Arjun Sahayak Project in Mahoba, Pachnad Development in Jalaun led BJP to return to power.
Although Akhilesh Yadav and the Samajwadi Party counted a lot of plans and works for their tenure in the area, but they could not change the mind of the Bundelas. Apart from this, the BSP not being active on the ground was also beneficial for the BJP in Bundelkhand.
