Learn more about Certified ScrumMaster certification, including CSM® training, requirements, and the CSP-SM credential. Anyone can benefit from csm
Step 1: Determine which type of certification best suits your needs.
There are three different types of Csm® certification. The most common is the Certified Social Media Manager (CsmM) and the Certified Mobile Marketing Professional (CMMP). If you’re looking to gain a deeper understanding of social media and its related technologies, you may want to consider becoming a Certified Social Media Strategist or Certified Digital Strategist. The benefits of each type are listed below:
- CsmM: This certification is for those who have already established themselves as social media managers but want to be recognized as industry leaders. It requires at least one year of experience in social media management roles and demonstrates that an applicant has mastered the key topics outlined by SMiLE Global’s training courses.* CMMP: Designed with mobile marketing professionals in mind, this program provides attendees with an overview of current trends in mobile marketing.* CSMS/CDSM: These accelerated programs are designed for students who have finished their undergraduate studies but do not yet possess any practical experience in digital strategy or communications.* CDSP/CSDS: These programs combine online learning with seminars held around the country; they’re perfect if you’d like hands-on instruction combined with industry networking opportunities
Step 2: Sign up for a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) course with a Certified Scrum Trainer.
After you’ve read the Scrum Guide, you may be ready to take a CSM course. A good place to start is with a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM®) course offered by an organization that is accredited by the International Association of Facilitators (IAF).
Search for organizations in your area that offer CSM® courses. Once you’ve found an organization, read reviews of its courses online and call them up to ask questions about the training they provide—what kind of experience do they have with Scrum? Do they offer in-person or virtual classes? How much does it cost? Are there other costs associated with getting certified (e.g., exam or class fees)? If there are any concerns about whether this organization is right for you, ask if you can meet one-on-one with them before signing up for anything expensive or committing to taking a full course yourself
Step 3: Participate in your CSM course.
In this step, you’ll be participating in your CSM course. This means that you’ll be doing everything that it takes to be successful in the course, including:
- Participating with your instructor.
- Participating with other students who are taking the same class as you.
- Participating with other students who are taking the same class as you, and also working closely with an instructor who’s there to guide everyone through the lessons together!
Step 4: Agree to uphold the Scrum Alliance Code of Ethics.
As a Scrum Master, you are an essential member of the Scrum team. By upholding the Scrum Alliance’s Code of Ethics, you help ensure that your organization’s implementation of Agile is conducted in a way that is consistent with the values and principles of the Agile Manifesto—and thus more likely to be effective.
To become a Certified ScrumMaster (CScM), you must agree to uphold the following Code of Ethics:
Step 5: Launch Your Scrum Career
Once you have completed all of the CSP training and testing, it is time to submit your application.
To do so, go to “My Certifications” on the Scrum Alliance website and select “CSP Certification.” On this page, enter your username and password for the ScrumAlliance website (if you haven’t already done so). This will allow you to access the CSP application form. After submitting this application, someone from the Scrum Alliance will verify that your work experience qualifies for certification as a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO). If they agree with your application, they’ll ask you to take part in an interview over Skype or phone where they can get more information about your background. Once this process has been completed successfully, congratulations! You’re now certified as a CSPO!
Step 6: Complete the Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) online each year, or earn the CSP designation.
You will have to complete the Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) online each year, or earn the CSP designation. You can find out if you are due for an update by checking your CSM Profile. If you do not complete the CCR or earn the CSP designation within one year from when it is required, your certification will expire and you may need to take steps to renew it.
