Army is paying tribute on the birth anniversary of General Rawat, will establish ‘Chair of Excellence’ in memory

Army Chief General MM Naravane on Tuesday presented the ‘Chair of Excellence’ at top military think tank ‘United Service Institution of India’ (USI) in memory of India’s first Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat. ) announced to be established.

The announcement was made by the Army Chief on the eve of the 65th birth anniversary of General Rawat. General Rawat was killed in a helicopter crash near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu on December 8 last year. General Rawat’s wife Madhulika and 12 armed forces personnel were also killed in this accident.

The General Bipin Rawat Memorial ‘Chair of Excellence’ has been created to focus on solidarity and integrity among the armed forces. A statement issued by the Army Chief’s Office said that India’s first CDS and 27th Chief of the Army Staff, General Bipin Rawat, was an exceptional professional man and was the driver of one of the most important changes in the Indian Army.

In a statement issued by the army, it has been said that the director of USI, Major General (Retd.) B. Of. Sharma has been handed over a check of Rs 5 lakh, which will be paid to the designated ‘Chair of Excellence’ as an honorary amount.

Chair of Excellence is a sign of the acumen leadership of General Rawat

The Army said the Chair of Excellence is a tribute to General Rawat’s acumen and professional expertise. In his address, the Army Chief said that General Rawat was very passionate about strategic matters and had spent a lot of time and energy in the activities of various think tanks.

General Naravane said that his 65th birth anniversary has provided an opportunity to reconnect the services with his Intellectual Institutions. The Army Chief is serving as the ex-officio chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee (COSC). At the same time, Army officials said that the theme of this year’s research has been that ‘Solidarity and integrity in the context of ground fighting in India’ will be of one year, which will start from July 1 every year.
