Have met 3 times so far

External Affairs Minister Jaishankar and China’s Foreign Minister have met three times in the last one and a half years amid tensions on the LAC. Their first meeting was in Moscow in September 2020 during the SCO conference. In that meeting, a 5-point agreement was reached between the two countries regarding the tension in western Ladakh. After that, in July and September last year, the two foreign ministers met in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan. India has been consistently saying that it is necessary to maintain peace and harmony on the border for the strengthening of bilateral relations.

15th round of Corps-Commander level meeting between the two countries

On March 11, the 15th round of Corps-Commander level meeting was held between the two countries to reduce the tension on the LAC. However, in this meeting also no concrete result came out. Along with India, the Foreign Minister of China can also visit Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s proposed visit to India is taking place at a time when Russia’s attack on Ukraine continues. India has so far adopted a balanced approach on this matter. In the UN too, India did not participate in voting on the anti-Russian resolution many times. In such a situation, discussion on Russia-Ukraine war between China and India is also possible.
