In Punjab, Navjot Singh Sidhu is holding the responsibility of the post of state president, while in UP Ajay Kumar Lallu is the head of PCC. In Goa, Girish Chodankar was the PCC President, who has resigned from his post after the defeat of the Congress in Goa. At the same time, Manipur Nameirakpaim Loken Singh is on the post of state president. After the defeat, all the state presidents have been asked to resign.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi said in the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting on Sunday that ‘we are ready for any sacrifice in the interest of the party. After this, the leaders involved in the CWC expressed confidence in his leadership and urged him to continue in the post till the organizational elections are over.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had proposed to organize ‘Chintan Shivir’ in his state. There will be another CWC meeting before the ‘Chintan Shivir’. After the meeting, several CWC leaders told that Sonia Gandhi said in the CWC meeting, ‘We are ready to make any sacrifice in the interest of the party as per the wishes of the Congress workers.’ Many are seeing this as an offer of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi to be relieved of party responsibilities.
