The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday said that wearing hijab is not a mandatory part of Islam. The court said that the students cannot refuse to wear the uniform. Now the barrage of political statements has started on this matter.

Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said on this issue that hijab was never a part of religion. It was given unnecessary importance because there were elections in five states.
