Former tennis star Sharapova and Formula One racer Schumacher booked for cheating in Gurugram



Gurugram police have registered a case of cheating and criminal conspiracy against 11 people including former Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova, former Formula One racer Michael Schumacher. This FIR has been registered in Badshahpur police station on the complaint of a woman from Delhi on the orders of the court. The woman has accused all of them of cheating.

Shefali Agarwal, a resident of Chhatarpur Mini Farm in New Delhi, has complained that she had booked an apartment in a project named Sharapova. In this project, a tower was named after Schumacher. The builder had claimed to complete the project by 2016, but its work is yet to be completed. The woman says that this international celebrity has become a participant in this fraud by promoting it, joining this project.

Earlier, this woman had dragged M/s Realtek Development and Infrastructure (India) Pvt Ltd and other developers Sharapova and Schumacher to court in a Gurugram court on charges of duping them of Rs 80 lakh. The woman told the court that she and her husband had booked an apartment in a tower named Sharapova in Sector 73 of Gurugram, but the developer companies have not given the house even after taking money.

Sharapova also visited the site.

The woman has told in her complaint that we saw about this project in advertisements. It was claimed to include celebrities like Sharapova and Schumacher. The builder had made many promises. Sharapova and Schumacher were also involved in this project as promoters. In such a situation, he has also cheated this. Shefali told that Sharapova had also visited the site and promised to open a tennis academy and sports store. It was written in the builder’s brochure that Sharapova was promoting this project.

The inspection of the matter is going on

Inspector Dinkar, SHO of Badshahpur police station, says that an FIR has been registered against all of them under sections 34, 120-B (criminal conspiracy), 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 420 (cheating) of the IPC. The matter is being investigated.
